The Advert Man is a Derby-based SME that aims to sell advertising space on lorries and trucks. SME caught up with founder Ed Hollands to find out more…
What technology/apps have you been most impressed with over the past 12 months?
I’m a big fan of Buffer; the ability to schedule social media posts across all my platforms is incredibly useful and takes it right off my mind.
What is your vision for the future? Are you looking to expand?
My vision extends far into the future, even for other businesses after The Advert Man. If I was to break it down it would probably be the following:
First, I would like to develop the business and grow into offering advertising onto all things driven. I’m considering bringing everything under a new brand “Driven Media”. This would involve expansion in teams of the team and the number of businesses we can help. Currently truck advertising isn’t attractive to everyone, I want to be able to help any company that might come to use this.
Secondly, once I have established the business I would like to create businesses and expand into other areas. One for an example would be to help newer and struggling hauliers by offering cheaper trailer rental, with adverts pre-installed on them.
From there, I think I would really like to encourage the next generation just like I have been, perhaps by offering the chance to be advertised on one of my trailers for a lucky winner.
