Jack Sullivan: A Conversation on Entrepreneurship, Health, and Overcoming Challenges

Jack, could you tell us a bit about your background and your journey as an entrepreneur? What inspired you to venture into the health and wellness industry, and why did you invest in Supply Life?

From a young age, I knew that the traditional academic path wasn’t for me. I left school
at 16, choosing not to attend university, largely because I had a deep passion for
football and was eager to immerse myself in the industry. My father managed football
clubs, first Birmingham City and then West Ham United, and I grew up fascinated by the
energy and excitement of the sport. Watching him work instilled a love for the sport and
the business around it.

After leaving school, I had the opportunity to gain work experience at West Ham United.
I rotated through different departments like the ticket office, club shop, player care, and
marketing. Each of these roles gave me a deeper understanding of how football clubs
operate. I learned a lot, but I quickly realized that cold calling in the ticket office wasn’t
my strong suit! My favourite experience, however, was managing the West Ham United
Women’s team. My dad gave me the opportunity, and it was a challenge I relished. Over
the four years I managed the team, I helped transition them from a semi-professional
team to a fully professional outfit. A highlight for me was leading the team to the FA Cup
final.

After five years at West Ham, I felt the urge to move on to a new challenge. I began
exploring different business ideas, but nothing felt quite right. As my dad pointed out —
brutally but honestly — most of the ideas I came up with weren’t quite there. It was then
that I remembered Supply Life. About 18 months earlier, they had conducted food
intolerance testing on the West Ham Women’s team to optimize performance, reducing
energy dips, bloating, and other common issues. They also tested me for my eczema,
and after following the recommendations for three weeks, my eczema completely
cleared up. I thought to myself, “If this could help me and the players, it could benefit so
many others.”

Four weeks later, I made my first investment in Supply Life, and I haven’t looked back.
Our mission is simple yet powerful: to help people live healthier, happier lives. We
recently surveyed 1,500 clients, and 94% of them reported positive results. It’s
incredibly rewarding to know that we’re making a real difference. Today, Supply Life is
the highest-rated food intolerance test provider in the UK, and I feel like we’re only just
getting started.

Can you share any success stories of individuals who have benefited from Supply Life?

We’ve had the privilege of working with a variety of clients, including several Premier
League football teams. One of our proudest moments came when West Ham United, a
team we tested, went on to win a European trophy. Additionally, we’ve tested Team GB
athletes ahead of the Paris Olympics, and two of them returned home with medals.
We’ve also worked with professional boxers, some of whom went on to become
champions after optimizing their nutrition with our help.

However, the majority—about 95%—of our clients are everyday individuals, not elite
athletes. These are people who often suffer from common issues like bloating, IBS, or
energy crashes after meals. Seeing their transformations after just a few weeks is
amazing. The impact we’re making on their daily lives is something we take immense
pride in. Knowing that we’re helping people feel better and enjoy life more is the most
gratifying part of the work we do.

As the highest-rated food intolerance test provider in the UK, we’ve earned a 4.9-star
rating on platforms like Trustpilot and Reviews.io. This success is a testament to our
incredible team of nutritionists and dietitians who genuinely care about each customer,
providing personalized support to ensure the best results.

How did you identify the need for food intolerance testing in the market?

Over time, I noticed that diets have become more processed and convenience-driven,
often at the expense of well-being. Many people, myself included, were unknowingly
eating foods that didn’t agree with them, leading to bloating, discomfort, and fatigue. I
realized food is meant to fuel us, not slow us down, and something needed to change.
When I personally tried Supply Life’s test and saw the difference it made for my eczema,
it was eye-opening. After that, I began talking to more people and discovered many of
them were experiencing similar issues—whether it was digestive discomfort,
sluggishness, or energy dips after eating. I saw that so many people were suffering in
silence, unsure of what to do or what was causing their problems.

That’s when I connected with Ricky, the founder of Supply Life. He had his own struggles
with food intolerances and had created a simple, user-friendly method for people to
identify the foods that worked best for their bodies. Watching how such a
straightforward solution could make such a significant difference in people’s lives was
inspiring.

How has your personal experience with dyslexia influenced your approach to
overcoming challenges in business?

Well, I hate reading long emails for starters! Although I do love email, sometimes its
best for me to do things over the phone or over Zoom so nothing is confused! I think my
dyslexia has given me a good work ethic and its taught me to break down problems into
small bits and it makes things much easier to overcome. I also think from a young age it gave me the ability to work out that people have positive and negatives and to
understand that when you work with people, I think it’s important to make sure you get
the best out of a team.

You’ve already established yourself as an impressive young entrepreneur. What’s next for Jack Sullivan?

I think more of the same, I have a few business now Techfueld www.techfueld.com an
automotive tech recruitment business who I started with a childhood friend, as a family
we own 11 care homes and of course Supply Life www.supplylife.com which is my baby
and my favourite investment as we really do help people every day live a better life . I
have also made an investment in a company called box bar www.boxbar.live which I am
a silent partner. I have also just started my own property company which is exciting!
But I hope I just continue growing things and helping people customers and other
entrepreneurs! I hope at some point I sell a business to I think for me that would be an
amazing achievement and would really be great for me. BUT who knows what the future
holds.
